What is Foresite?
Foresite is a cutting-edge platform that combines artificial intelligence and no-touch sensors to help reduce falls, discreetly monitor health data, and alert the team if a fall has been detected. Using Foresite, our team members are able to more accurately understand each resident’s needs to make informed, wellness-based decisions.
305 West End Assisted Living is proud to be among the first communities in New York State to implement the Foresite Fall Detection and Health Monitoring System.
Sensor Technology
Strategically placed infrared devices are placed in the resident’s apartment and a sensor is placed under the resident’s mattress. As privacy is of the utmost importance, none of the sensors physically interact with the individual and data is captured discreetly and unobtrusively.
Also known as a fall or motion sensor, these sensors monitor movement patterns. Mounted in a corner of the apartment ceiling and the bathroom, these sensors measure walking speed, stride length and quality, and the amount of time residents take to get up or change positions. The sensor only monitors movement and does not capture any identifiable characteristics.
Foresite analyzes this data continuously to determine if there is a change in speed or condition, or if the resident is at an elevated risk for a fall. If an activated depth sensor does detect a fall, it provides an alert to the team to initiate a response immediately.
Foresite utilizes a sensor placed under the mattress which gathers heart rate, respiration, and other biometric data. The sensor also measures sleep quality by analyzing changes in sleep patterns.
Once baseline data has been established, Foresite will alert the staff when statistically significant variations are detected in the resident’s physical well-being.
